KKR: EU approves joint deal with Telefónica
(CercleFinance.com) - Yesterday the European Commission announced that, under the EU Merger Regulations, it has cleared the acquisition of joint control of PangeaCo S.
A.C. of Peru by KKR & Co. Inc. of the US and Telefónica, S.A. of Spain.
The transaction concerns the telecommunications services sector.
The Commission concluded that the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns, given its limited impact on the European Economic Area and the fact that the companies involved do not operate in the same or vertically related markets.
