Johnson & Johnson: settlement agreement on opiods in Ohio

(CercleFinance.com) - On Tuesday Johnson & Johnson and its subsidiary Janssen announced a settlement agreement with the counties of Cuyahoga and Summit, Ohio, putting an end to the lawsuits filed against them by these counties for opioids.

Through this agreement, the health group will pay 10 million dollars as a settlement and 5 million dollars in court fees to both counties, as well as 5.4 million dollars to associations that fight against opioids.

"The settlement allows the Company to avoid the resource demands and uncertainty of a trial as it continues to seek meaningful progress in addressing the nation's opioid crisis," it said.
