(CercleFinance.com) - General Motors said on Tuesday that it has closed the sale of its Opel/Vauxhall business to France's Groupe PSA.
The US carmaker said the transaction will help the company focus its resources on "higher-return opportunities."
The sale is the "most significant" decision in a series of actions taken to strengthen the group's position, while immediately improving its financial performance, GM said.
The sale of GM Financial's European operations to Groupe PSA and BNP Paribas is expected to be closed later this year.
