(CercleFinance.com) - General Electric's GE Ventures today launched Avitas Systems, a new company that will use predictive data analytics, robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) to deliver advanced inspection services to the oil & gas, transportation and energy industries.
The venture capital arm of U.S. industrial giant says Avitas Systems is supposed to make inspection processes safer and more efficient, while decreasing costs by up to 25% and helping to increase asset longevity.
GE estimates that service transformation represents a 40-billion-dollar market opportunity.
