Ford: construction of Blueoval City site on track
(CercleFinance.com) - Ford has announced that construction of its BlueOval City "mega-campus" is on track and will usher in a new American era of innovation and manufacturing.
Located in Tennessee, the electric vehicle and battery manufacturing campus is expected to go into production in 2025, and will be home to Ford's second-generation electric truck, named Project T3. At full capacity, the site is expected to produce 500,000 electric trucks per year.
Ford says that there it will build revolutionary electric vehicles at a state-of-the-art manufacturing site that works in harmony with the planet, aligning the company's growth and innovation with
environmental progress.
Ford and its partner SK On are investing $5.6bn in the campus and are expected to generate some 6,000 new jobs.
