Ford: China sales rebound in second quarter

(CercleFinance.com) - Driven by strong demand following the lifting of Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, Ford's second-quarter sales rose by 3% in China, the US carmaker said on Thursday.

Ford and its joint ventures sold 158,589 vehicles in Greater China over the past quarter, representing an impressive 78% sequential increase.

The company said its refreshed vehicle lineup - including the addition of the all-new Ford Escape and Lincoln Corsair - offered a favourable product mix, with sales particularly strong in the commercial vehicle and luxury segments.

Ford said it intends to build on its sales momentum in China by accelerating the launch of new products, such as the locally built all-new Explorer and a brand new lineup of new SUVs.
