Ford: to connect 14,000 vehicles for Avis in Europe
(CercleFinance.com) - Ford said it is providing an embedded telematics solution that will connect approximately 14,000 Ford vehicles in Avis' European fleet.
The connected vehicles will enable clients to manage their car rental through the Avis mobile app, including choosing the type of vehicle they want to rent and allowing their vehicles to be dropped off with a simple tap.
The vehicles will also provide telemetry data in real time, including mileage and a fuel guage.
More than 4,000 Ford vehicles in the Avis fleet are expected to be connected by the end of 2019, with another 10,000 vehicles by the end of 2020.
Avis recently announced that more than 35,000 Ford vehicles of its US fleet will soon be connected.
