Ford: former KPMG chairman elected to board.

(CercleFinance.com) - On Friday Ford Motor said that John Veihmeyer, the former US CEO of accounting giant KPMG, has been appointed to the board of directors, effective from 1 December.

The US carmaker said Veihmeyer will serve on the board of directors' audit, and nominating and governance committees.

Mr. Veihmeyer, who recently retired as chairman of KPMG International, a role he has held since April 2014 - "brings decades of accounting, governance and risk management experience that spans multiple industries," Ford said.

The group also said today that it is planning to invest over 870 million dollars to build the next-generation Kuga medium-sized SUV in Valencia, Spain.
