Meta: more transparency on WhatsApp network
(CercleFinance.com) - After dialogue with EU consumer protection authorities and the European Commission (CPC Network), WhatsApp has committed to be more transparent about changes to its terms of use, as announced by the European Commission today.
For example, the company will make it easier for users to opt out of updates if they disagree, and will provide clear explanations when such a rejection no longer allows the user to use WhatsApp's services, the EU added in its statement.
WhatsApp also confirmed that users' personal data is not shared with third parties or other Meta companies - including Facebook - for advertising purposes.
