Disney: Spider Man could say goodbye to Iron Man

(CercleFinance.com) - According to several American media sources, Marvel Studios, owned by Disney group since 2009, has decided not to produce any more Spider Man films, whose rights belong to Sony, in their next films, so as to focus on other franchises.

The reason behind this seems to be a quarrel between both giants, who signed an agreement in 2015 for Spider-Man to appear in the movies and the Marvel storyline, with Disney getting a small proportion of the revenues in exchange for the character's presence. According to US media, Disney asked to become a producer of films up to 50% so as to get a bigger slice of the cake. Sony refused this, preferring to maintain the current terms of the agreement.

Neither Sony nor Disney were available to comment on this information.
