Disney: dividend increased by 5% given 'record' performance
(CercleFinance.com) - Walt Disney announced a dividend of 88 cents for the second half of 2018 on Wednesday evening, 5% above the previous pay-out the media giant made this summer.
The company last paid an interim dividend of 84 cents per share in July.
The interim cash dividend will be payable on 10 January 2019 to shareholders on record at the close of business on 10 December, Disney said.
The payment will bring the total dividend for the fiscal year to 1.72 dollar a share.
Disney - which is in the process of acquiring 21st Century Fox - said that it has raised its dividend given its "record financial performance" in fiscal 2017/2018.
