Deere: EU clears acquisition of Germany's Wirtgen.
(CercleFinance.com) - On Thursday the European Union cleared the purchase of German road construction equipment maker Wirtgen Group by Deere, the world leading manufacturer of agricultural equipment.
"The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns because the companies' product portfolios are complementary and the market is characterised by the presence of several large competitors all over Europe," the European Commission said in a statement.
The operation was examined under the normal merger review procedure.
