Coca-Cola: supports Dutch-based Ioniqa for plastic reuse
(CercleFinance.com) - Coca-Cola is extending a loan to Ioniqa to fasten the development of the Dutch chemical company's technology to produce high-grade, recycled plastic content.
The agreement is designed to accelerate the deployment of high-grade recycled content from hard-to-recycle polyethylene terephthalate (PET) waste for use in bottles used by the American soda giant, it said.
Ioniqa has an industrial plant under construction in The Netherlands, which is due to be commissioned in 2019.
Coca-Cola said it wants to have at least 50% of its packaging made from recycled material by 2030.
