Boeing: Germany orders five P-8A Poseidon aircraft

(CercleFinance.com) - Boeing has announced that it has been awarded a contract to produce five P-8A Poseidon aircraft for Germany, with the first deliveries scheduled to begin in 2024 when the P-8A Poseidon will eventually replace the German P-3C Orion aircraft fleet.

The P-8 will ensure the German Navy's ability to conduct long-range maritime surveillance missions and play a central role in the region, a Boeing representative in Germany said.

Germany is the eighth country to acquire the P-8A, after the US, Australia, India, the UK, Norway, Korea and New Zealand. Over 135 aircraft are operational worldwide, having accumulated more than 350,000 flight hours without collective incident.
