Boeing: counselor Michael Luttig to retire at year end

(CercleFinance.com) - Just a few days after the announcement of the resignation of CEO Dennis Muilenburg, Boeing on Thursday said that Michael Luttig, its counselor and senior advisor, had decided to retire at year end.

Aged 65, Luttig, who served as Boeing's general counsel from 2006 until assuming his current responsibilities this year, has been managing legal matters associated with the Lion Air Flight 610 and Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 accidents.

He was also advising the board on strategic matters.

The judge, considered as one of the finest legal minds in the US, joined Boeing after serving 15 years on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

He worked at The White House from 1981-82 under President Ronald Reagan.
