Amazon: soon to open fresh grocery store in California
(CercleFinance.com) - On Thursday evening the tech giant announced the upcoming opening of Amazon Fresh grocery store in California that is entirely dedicated to fresh products.
The "Amazon Fresh" store in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, will offer fruits and vegetables, meat, fish and delicacies prepared on site, it said in a post published on its corporate blog yesterday.
The Seattle based group says customers will be able to shop on-site or online, including via the Amazon Dash Cart feature, which enables customers to avoid queues at checkouts.
Amazon seems to want to focus on its competitive prices however, with hormone-free chicken offered at 99 cents a pound, a 1.5 kg bag of onions at 1.69 dollar and a set of 10 packs of Quaker oat flakes at 2.5 dollars.
The store will open in the next few weeks, it said.
