Amazon: solid Q4 2019 results

(CercleFinance.com) - Released last night, Amazon's Q4 2019 results showed solid activity over the festive season, with sales jumping 21% to 87.
44 billion dollars.

This resulted in earnings increasing from 3 billion to 3.3 billion dollars over the period, corresponding to EPS of 6.47 dollars, vs. 6.04 dollars. This result is therefore a lot above the consensus - which was expecting just 4.09 dollars.

Another bonus point for the group, whose share is expected to rise sharply on Wall Street today, is that revenues from Prime subscribers increased by 32% to 5.2 billion dollars. The US tech giant, whose strategy is particularly based on reducing delivery times, now has some 150 million Prime subscribers.
