Amazon: to create 2,000 jobs in the UK this year

com said on Tuesday that it plans to create 2,000 new jobs in the UK in 2019, in a move that will take its total workforce in the country to over 29,500 by the end of the year.
The roles are set to include engineers, software developers, data scientists, and cloud and machine learning positions, along with a number of entry-level jobs, the US online retail giant said in a statement.
Out of the jobs created, over 170 will be highly-skilled roles at its development centres in Cambridge, Edinburgh and London, which are specialised in cloud storage, robotics and virtual and augmented reality, the company said.
