Amazon: Thanksgiving weekend breaks new records
(CercleFinance.com) - Amazon on Tuesday posted "record" numbers for the five-day period from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday, a popular shopping period for Americans.
Without giving specific numbers or comparison bases, the US online giant said customers ordered over 180 million items on Amazon.com over the past five days.
Amongst best-selling products, Amazon cited the all-new Echo Dot speaker or Michelle Obama's biography "Becoming."
"Black Friday and Cyber Monday continue to break records on Amazon year over year," the Seattle-based company said in a statement.
Another important piece of news is that yesterday's Cyber Monday, was once again the single biggest shopping day in the company's history, with more products ordered worldwide than any other day.
