Amazon: to make original TV show based on Cortes character

com said on Tuesday that it will make an original TV series based on the iconic figure of Spanish conquistador Hernan Cortes, set to be produced by Steven Spielberg and starring Spanish movie star Javier Barden.
The four-hour mini-series, written by Steven Zaillian ("Schindler's List") will be shown exclusively on Amazon's Prime video on-demand service at a date that has yet to be revealed.
Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television currently has ten series at different stages of production, including "The Americans" for FX.
