Amazon: Whole Foods acquisition to close on Monday.
(CercleFinance.com) - Amazon said late Thursday that the acquisition of Whole Foods Market will close on Monday 28 August.
As from Monday, Whole Foods will start cutting its prices on a selection of best-selling items, such as bananas, avocados, brown eggs, salmon, kale and apples, the e-commerce giant said.
In addition, Amazon staff will team up with those at Whole Foods to integrate Amazon Prime into the stores point-of-sale system, with Prime members set to receive special savings and in-store benefits.
Amazon said it plans to further cut prices at Whole Foods Market stores, which will maintain operations under their brand.
