Altria: raises dividend by 8%.
(CercleFinance.com) - Altria, the tobacco company, on Thursday raised its common stock dividend by over 8%, consistent with the group's intention to return approximately 80% of its earnings to shareholders.
The quarterly dividend will rise to 66 cents per share from 61 cents and will be payable on 10 October to recorded shareholders as of 15 September.
The company said the new annualized dividend rate is 2.64 dollars per common share, representing a yield of 4.1% based on yesterday's closing price.
