Alphabet: Google to set up a new campus in New York

(CercleFinance.com) - Alphabet's Google is investing over 1 billion dollars to build a new campus in New York City, located in the heart of Manhattan, between the districts of SoHo and Greenwich Village.

The so-called "Google Hudson Square" property will be a campus of over 1.7 million square feet, resulting from lease agreements at 315 and 345 Hudson Street and a letter of intent at 550 Washington Street, the tech company said on Monday.

Google plans to start moving into the two Hudson Street buildings by 2020, followed by 550 Washington Street in 2022, once the building is complete, it said.

New York City was Google's first office outside California, opening almost 20 years ago.
