Assa Abloy: working with Apple on mobile access technology
(CercleFinance.com) - Swedish lockmaker Assa Abloy is working with Apple to enable students to access their dorm rooms with contactless IDs.
This autumn, with Assa's reader technology and contactless student IDs, students and faculty will be able to use their iPhones and Apple Watches to open doors in buildings, the company said.
For that purpose, student ID cards will be added to Apple Wallet on iPhone with iOS 12 or Apple Watch with watchOS 5, Assa said.
