Tele2: first-quarter profit up, financial guidance unchanged
(CercleFinance.com) - Swedish telecom operator Tele2 said that it is on track to reach its full-year guidance, after reporting higher profit for the first quarter.
The company said profit after financial items (EBT) rose to 1 billion Swedish kronor in the first three months of the year, compared to 800 million Swedish kronor in the same period a year ago.
Tele2 said it benefitted from cost synergies, driven by its merger with triple-play provider Com Hem.
Revenue increased to 7.2 billion Swedish kronor in the quarter, although were down 1% organically.
In the report, Tele2 said it was on track to reach full year guidance, with flat end-user service revenue and strong growth in underlying EBITDA.
