Equinor: low CO2 collaboration agreement with Rosneft
(CercleFinance.com) - Norwegian oil company Equinor announced on Wednesday that it has signed a collaboration agreement with the Russian oil company Rosneft to manage their CO2 emissions.
Under the terms of the agreement, both partners plan to explore a number of projects to reduce their use of flaring, reduce their methane emissions, improve their energy efficiency and better measure emissions.
In particular, Equinor and Rosneft intend to focus on the use of renewable energy, the development of CO2 capture and storage and hydrogen technologies.
For the moment, the scope of the collaboration will be limited to their joint upstream projects in Russia.
