Telenor: kicks off process to form new Nordic cluster

(CercleFinance.com) - Telenor said that it now owns nearly 95% of Finnish telco firm DNA, enabling the Norwegian mobile operator to begin the process of forming a new Nordic cluster.

After the tender offer is complete, Telenor today reported a preliminary holding of 94.4% of DNA shares, with the intention to extend the offer period until 10 October.

The company plans to buy out the remaining minority shareholders, and then apply for a delisting of DNA shares from Nasdaq Helsinki.

With the Finnish market now officially within its scope, Telenor has begun the process to form a new Nordic cluster, with the selection of a head in progress.

This means that Morten Karlsen Sorby, the current head ot its Scandinavia Cluster, will step down from his role after 26 years with the company.
