Telenor: shares inch up after third-quarter results

(CercleFinance.com) - Telecom company Telenor posted a rise in both third-quarter earnings and revenue on Wednesday and adjusted its expectations for 2018.


Norway's Telenor, which has over 20,000 employees worldwide, said EBITDA rose to 12.4 billion Norwegian kronor in July-September, from 11.8 billion Norwegian kronor in the same period a year ago.

Telenor's revenues rose to 27.6 billion kronor over the quarter, from 27.5 billion kronor in the third quarter of 2017, with an EBITDA margin of 45%, i.e. 2 percentage points above its level last year.

The provider adjusted its expectations, now forecasting organic subscription and traffic revenue growth of 0-1%, with organic EBITDA growth of 3-4%.

Shares in Telenor are currently up 1.1% at 153.3 Norwegian kronor, slightly behind the STOXX Europe 600 Optimised Telecommunications index, which is up 1.7%.
