Norsk Hydro: starts production at pilot plant
(CercleFinance.com) - Norwegian aluminium producer Hydro said it has started production at its technology pilot plant in Karmøy, producing the first metal at this plant located in southern Norway.
Compared to the average, the Hydro-developed technology uses 15% less energy in aluminium production and has the lowest CO2 footprint in the world.
The technology pilot has an annual production capacity of approximately 75,000 tonnes.
