Gemalto: merger with Thales authorised in Turkey
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales and Gemalto have announced that Turkey's Competition Board has officially authorised their merger.
The decision - notified to Thales - was made on 27 August.
Having already obtained regulatory authorisations from competition authorities in China and Israel, and authorisation decisions on foreign investment in Australia and Canada, Thales and Gemalto have now obtained 5 out of the 14 required regulatory authorisations.
Both companies continue to work actively with competent competition authorities to obtain remaining regulatory authorisations - particularly in the US and the European Union. The companies expect to obtain all the necessary authorisations by the end of 2018.
