Wolters Kluwer: H1 earningq up - stock rises

(CercleFinance.com) - On Wednesday the Dutch publisher Wolters Kluwer announced an increase in its H1 earnings and sales, in particular thanks to strong demand for its digital offerings and its tax and accounting products, despite the difficult economic context.

The group's sales rose by 3% to 2.3 billion euros, while net profit increased to 426 million euros, up 21% from the 351 million euros posted for H1 2019.

Wolters Kluwer - which, amongst other things, offers legal monitoring, legal software and human resources training packages - however said that it does not plan to provide any financial targets for 2020 until it has better visibility on its outlook.

Shortly after noon, its share price was up 4.1%, while the STOXX Europe 600 Media index, which includes European media stocks, was only 1.3% higher.
