Airbus: Qantas orders 52 aircraft

(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus has announced that the Australian carrier Qantas has confirmed an order for 12 A350-1000, 20 A220 and 20 A321XLR aircraft, adding to an existing order for 109 A320neo family aircraft.

The A350-1000 will enable the carrier to operate the world's longest commercial flights. This will include connecting Sydney and Melbourne to destinations such as London and New York non-stop for the first time ever.

The A220 and A321XLR will be used on domestic routes across Australia, which can take over five hours. In addition, the A321XLR will enable Qantas to open new direct routes to South East Asia.
