Airbus: Delta Airlines' maiden flight of the A220-100

(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus has said that Delta Air Lines' first A220-100 has completed its maiden flight, flying to Quebec.

During this flight of two hours and 53 minutes, the crew checked the aircraft's main systems before landing at the Mirabel airport.

"Next, the aircraft will continue with pre-delivery testing and assembly, as elements of its state-of-the-art interior come together at the A220 assembly line. Delta's first A220 is scheduled to begin service in early 2019," Airbus said.

Delta Air Lines is the main buyer of the A220-100, having made a firm order for 75 aircraft and it will be the first American company to operate the A220, therefore becoming the fourth operator of the A220, after Swiss International Air lines, airBaltic and Korean Air.
