Airbus: 10th anniversary of first A380 flight to Heathrow
(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus and Heathrow Airport today celebrate the 10th anniversary of the first flights of the A380 to and from the London airport.
It all began on 18 March 2008, with the arrival of the first ever Singapore Airlines A380 flight, SQ308, from Singapore Changi Airport, which made Heathrow one of the first airports to welcome A380.
To date, over 200 million passengers have enjoyed their experience aboard the A380.
Heathrow is today the A380's busiest airport in terms of the number of A380 operators, with nine airlines providing approximately 50 A380 flights each day to 13 destinations worldwide.
Heathrow welcomes 78 million passengers a year, 10% of whom travel on an A380.
