Airbus: will Tom Enders be replaced?

(CercleFinance.com) - According to Le Figaro, the Airbus Group's CEO, Tom Enders, will not stand for re-election and will leave office at the end of his current term of office in May 2019.
In charge of Airbus Commercial, Fabrice Brégier could leave the company as well.

The French daily understands that the European aircraft manufacturer's final board meeting of 2017 will rule on this point, after Mr. Enders has been weakened by investigations for suspected corruption in Europe.

Proceedings have been opened in the UK and France concerning commercial aircraft contracts, in addition to Germany and Austria on the Eurofighter. In addition, there are the cases of Kazakhstan (helicopter contracts) and the United States, for "inaccuracies" on export licenses for military equipment.

Le Figaro adds that the departure of Mr. Enders is likely to be followed by Fabrice Brégier, deputy CEO and president of Airbus Commercial (civil aircraft), Airbus' main division.
