STMicro: SiC technology chosen by Semikron
(CercleFinance.com) - STMicroelectronics today announced that it has supplied its silicon carbide (SiC) technology to Semikron, a leading global manufacturer of power modules and systems, for its eMPack power modules used in electric vehicles (EVs).
This caps a collaboration that began four years ago to qualify ST's advanced SiC power components to establish benchmark performance in more compact systems.
Semikron recently announced that it has secured a 1 billion euro contract to supply its innovative eMPack power modules to a major German car manufacturer, from 2025, the semiconductor manufacturer said.
