STMicro: two acquisitions - in France and Canada
(CercleFinance.com) - STMicroelectronics has announced signing two acquisition agreements to "to further strengthen the wireless connectivity capabilities of STM32 microcontrollers".
First, the Franco-Italian group will acquire the entire share capital of BeSpoon, based in Bourget-du-Lac (Savoie) which was founded in 2010, a specialist in ultra-wideband transmission technology.
Secondly, the semiconductor manufacturer will acquire the assets of Riot Micro, a company based in Vancouver (Canada) that is specialised in cellular connectivity dedicated to connected objects. The terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
