ArcelorMittal: completes acquisition of CSP in Brazil
(CercleFinance.com) - ArcelorMittal announced on Friday that it had completed the acquisition of Companhia Siderúrgica do Pecém (CSP) in Brazil, a deal based on an enterprise value of around 2.
2 billion dollars, after receiving approval from the relevant authorities.
The steelmaker said that the plant, which is located in the northeast of the country, produces high-quality steel at competitive costs.
Commissioned in 2016, the site has a blast furnace with a capacity of three million tonnes and direct access to the port of Pecém, located just 10 km from its facilities.
ArcelorMittal explains that the operation will enable it to generate "significant" synergies in both operational and financial terms, with the potential to expand its structure.
