Toyota: adjusts production schedule for October

(CercleFinance.com) - While Toyota announced that it was aiming for a monthly average production of 900,000 units between September and November just last month, the Japanese manufacturer says that production should be limited to 800,000 units during October (250,000 units in Japan and 550,000 units abroad), which it says is due to the impact of semiconductor shortages.

For October to December, Toyota is targeting a monthly average production of about 850,000 units. This plan is based on careful confirmation of the supply of parts and personnel structures and the capabilities of supplier facilities, it said.

However, it remains difficult to predict the future due to semiconductor shortages, the spread of COVID-19 and other factors, it adds.

The FY production forecast remains unchanged however, at approximately 9.7 million units.
