Toyota: 578,400 vehicles sold in Europe in 1H
(CercleFinance.com) - The group announces sales of 578,400 vehicles in Europe in the first half of 2019, up 3.
3% year-on-year. This represents a market share of 5.3%. More than 50% of sales are for hybrid electric models.
With growth of 18% compared to the first half of 2018, the hybrid electric models boosted TME sales in a struggling market, bringing its market share up to 5.3%.
“This strong performance will continue in the second half of the year and we are on track to exceed our total Toyota and Lexus sales objective of 1,065,000 this year due to the strength of our hybrid order bank” commented Matt Harrison, Executive Vice President of TME.
