WPP: North American division executive to join AT&T.
(CercleFinance.com) - Brian Lesser, CEO of the North American arm of WPP's media investment management division GroupM, is going to join AT&T, the US telecom giant said this weekend.
AT&T named Brian Lesser to build and lead an advertising and analytics business using the company's customer data and growing content assets once the acquisition of Time Warner is complete, the operator said.
"While there may be some speculation as to why he left, we do not see the move as a sign that WPP is having problems nor that AT&T is about to become an aggressive competitor to the agencies," reacted analysts at Liberum, who are maintaining their "buy" rating on WPP shares.
