Atlantia: submits takeover bid on Abertis.
(CercleFinance.com) - Atlantia, one of the main Italian toll road operators, announced yesterday the submission of its takeover bid for Abertis Infraestructuras to the Spanish financial regulator, Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMW).
A takeover bid at 16.5 euros per Abertis share, representing a valuation of more than 16 billion euros, had already been announced on 15 May. Part of the price is payable in securities.
The document also indicates that Atlantia does not intend to ask for the Abertis share to be withdrawn from listing on the Madrid stock exchange but rather to ensure that the float remains at around 5%.
