Eni: update on projects in Algeria
(CercleFinance.com) - Eni announces that its CEO, Claudio Descalzi, today met the Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab in Algiers, and the new head of Sonatrach, Rachid Hachichi, to discuss gas production and exports, investments in the country and energy transition initiatives.
Eni and Sonatrach share joint programs for the development of gas production operated by Eni, as well as gas and LNG exports to Europe.
Under the existing cooperation, the parties also discussed other energy transition initiatives, including renewable energies, hydrogen and the electricity interconnection between Algeria and Europe.
