Enel: EU approves joint acquisition
(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission has approved the acquisition of joint control of Enel Green Power Hellas ("EGPH"), based in Greece, by Macquarie GIG Renewable Energy Fund 2 SCSp ("MGREF 2 Fund"), based in Luxembourg, and Enel Green Power S.
p.A. ("EGP"), based in Italy.
The transaction mainly concerns the development of assets, production and subsequent sale of renewable energy.
The Commission concluded that the proposed merger would not raise competition concerns, given the limited combined market position of the companies resulting from the proposed transaction.
