Accenture: buys Swiss financial services firm Orbium
(CercleFinance.com) - Consulting giant Accenture said on Wednesday that it has agreed to buy privately held Orbium, which provides consultancy and technology services to the financial services industry.
The Swiss-based Orbium is the largest services provider for the Avaloq Banking Suite - core banking software for the financial industry - used by over 150 banks and wealth managers worldwide.
Accenture said the acquisition will strengthen its offer for clients in the private-banking and wealth-management sectors.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, although Accenture said that Orbium has more than 500 employees, with offices in over a dozen cities in Europe, Asia-Pacific and the United States.
