BT: keeps 2018/2019 guidance after good start to the year

(CercleFinance.com) - BT, Britain's biggest telecoms company, said on Friday that its 2018/2019 fiscal year had started well, with all key indicators of profitability improving.


Adjusted EBITDA was up 1% to 1.8 billion pounds in the quarter to 30 June, while adjusted profit before tax rose to 816 million pounds from 791 million pounds in the same period one year ago.

Adjusted revenue fell to 5.7 billion pounds, from 5.8 billion pounds one year earlier.

BT said there was no change to its financial outlook for 2018/2019, with underlying revenue still expected to be down 2%, and adjusted EBITDA in between 7.3 billion pounds and 7.4 billion pounds.

Shares in BT were up 3.5 per cent after these comments.
