AstraZeneca: China first country to approve anemia drug
(CercleFinance.com) - AstraZeneca on Tuesday said that Chinese regulators have approved roxadustat, a new oral treatment for patients with anemia caused by chronic kidney disease (CKD) that are on dialysis.
The Anglo-Swedish drugmaker said anemia commonly developed with CKD and affects around 120 million patients in China, with an estimated 500,000 patients on dialysis.
China is the first country to approve roxadustat.
