GlaxoSmithKline: grants license for Ebola vaccine

(CercleFinance.com) - GlaxoSmithKline announced on Tuesday that it has granted an exclusive technology license for clinical-stage Ebola vaccines to the American NGO Sabin Vaccine Institute.

In detail, GSK will transfer its proprietary vaccine technology to Sabin, against the three most dangerous strains of the virus, as well as patent rights.

The Ebola vaccine project was developed by the US National Institutes of Health in collaboration with the biotech company Okairos, which GSK acquired in 2013.

Based in Washington, the Sabin Vaccine Institute is a "leading advocate" for expanding vaccine access and uptake globally.
