GlaxoSmithKline: positive results for HIV two-drug regimen

(CercleFinance.com) - GlaxoSmithKline said on Thursday a two-drug regimen showed positive results in controling HIV in treatment-naïve patients.

GSK's ViiV Healthcare said two phase III studies comparing a two-drug regimen with a three-drug regimen met their primary endpoint for non-inferiority, based on standard measure of HIV control after 48 weeks.

ViiV now plans for regulatory submissions for this two-drug regimen, that combines dolutegravir and lamivudine, later this year.
