bp: tests a digital fuel payment solution
(CercleFinance.com) - bp has announced the successful testing of the UK's first on-board digital fuel payment system, in partnership with Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK.
The system was tested on 11 vehicles belonging to Wren Kitchens, which specialises in delivering kitchens to customers' homes.
Based on the bp In-Truck Pay application, the new system makes fuel purchasing and management faster, more efficient and safer for truck drivers and fleet managers.
By automatically relaying purchases, mileage and other data to the database, In-Truck Pay eliminates errors, provides accurate information to managers and eliminates the need for drivers to enter their vehicle's mileage themselves.
The application has been developed for the latest generation of Actros trucks from Mercedes-Benz.
